Pass Something along to a Friend

No one mentioned to me  that when you sit around being sedentary for months writing a book you might gain some weight. In fact, a few months ago when I tried on some spring clothes I realized, I couldn’t zip several pairs of pants. I got on the scale and was horrified to realize I had gained 12 lbs while writing my 1,000 Mitzvah book. Holy cow!

I immediately began panicking. I decided I would have to find time to get back into a gym routine and loose those pounds before my daughter’s Bat Mitzvah this summer. I was stressed because I already feel like there isn’t enough time in the day and making time to hit the gym can sometimes be a challenge.

I happened to mention this to a friend while we were waiting for our boys at a basketball practice. She told me that she works out at home using exercise DVD’s. She’s able to fit it in more effortlessly around her family life. What a concept! I have never worked out with a DVD but could definitely see the time advantages. A few days later, my friend handed me a bag with some exercise DVD’s she likes and said they were for me. Ironically, she had just joined an inexpensive new gym that opened in our area and was enjoying attending some of their daily classes.

What an absolute blessing she gave me that day. Those exercise DVD’s have given me a chance to fit in a daily work out around our family schedule and I am delighted to report that I have dropped 7 lbs in the last two months since I started using them.

A gift from a friend can be anything that you know will be useful, helpful and beneficial to another human being.

So what has your friend mentioned that he or she needs that you might be able to pass along? Give it to them today!
